WORLD MALARIA DAY; 25th April.
World Malaria Day is observed every 25th day of every month of April.
INGOs, NGOs Civil Society Society Organisations working on health and related issues on this day organises events such as visual, audio, online, seminars, conferences, roadshow among others to raise awareness on the impact of malaria, control and its possible eradication. Information materials eg leaflets, flyers, were distributed.
The day recognizes global effort to control malaria.
The day was first observed in 2008 which was developed from Africa Malaria Day an event that had been observed since 2001 by African government.
The aim of the day is to raise awareness on the global effort to control and ultimately eradicate malaria.
Slogan of the day’s commemoration “Accelerating the fight against malaria, forging partnership and implementing evidence based strategies to achieve a more equitable opportunity for world where no one is left behind in our quest to end Malaria for good.
Theme for the year”Gender, health equity and human rights. This accompany the slogan for the day.

Jumali in collaboration with MDSCF as one of the NGOs join the stakeholders in the health sector to commemorate the day.
