WORLD HAND HYGIENE DAY; 5th May.
World hand hygiene day is declared by UN and observed every 5th of May.
The day aims to progress the goal of maintaining a global profile on the importance of hand hygiene.
In the observance of the day, theme is drawn. The 2024 is “Promoting knowledge and capacity building and health and care workers through innovative and impactful training and education on infection, prevention and control including hand hygiene.
Stakeholders in the health sector including NGOs, Civil Society Organisations and government parastatals partner with INGOs to organize awareness programmes to reach out to the general public on the importance of the day.
Jumali join the world over to commemorate the day.
