WORLD RED CROSS DAY, 8th MAY.
Red Cross was introduced as a major contribution to the peace after the World War 1 by an international commission at 14th International Conference of the Red Cross.
Today is observe as World Red Cross day, celebrated annually on the 8th of May to honor the founder of International Red Cross crescent movement, Henry Dunant.
The aim of the celebration is to create awareness to people about the need of life protection in some drastic condition. It highlights International services to motivate people to hugely to participate in the life saving activities.

The day has the following as its objectives; they include among others: providing relief and peace to the injured people to prevent death rate due to the disasters of any kind, Helps in initiating active efforts all over the world to reduce casual death rate because of epidemic illnesses, Helps people living in vulnerable areas to manage the public health emergencies.

The day is celebrated by organizing variety of events and programmes at many places to help people free of cost. Volunteers are enrolled and engage during the day’s program and encourage to actively participate.

Jumali and MDSCF partner in progress join the civil society organizations around the world including the the Red Cross Societies world wide to commemorate the day.
