INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY, 17th October.
The day is celebrated annually to honor the victims of extrem poverty, violence and hunger. Organisations of International INGOs, NGOs and the CSOs both within and outside come together on this day and affirm their commitment that poverty is a violation of human right and are to ensure the rights of people are respected. People of all worth of backgrounds, beliefs and social origins have gathered every year on this day to commemorate this day by showing their solidarity and commitment with the poor in the eradication of poverty. Some activities slated for this day ranges from rallies, seminars and workshops aiming at creating awareness and sensitizing the public for the day to take up available vocations, skills acquisation and enterprenuership to curb the menance of poverty. Which is why at JTSLTA we encourage our teens to be empowered with the various vocational skills we offer.
Jumali Teen Summer Leadeeship Training Academy in partnership with MDSCF join the world over to commemorate the day and call on the general public to take up any skill so as to empower themselves. Happy International Day For the Eradication of Poverty from JTSLTA/MDSCF.
