WORLD PATIENT SAFETY DAY; 17th September.
The World Health Assembly declared the 17th day in September every year as World Patient Safety Day(WPSD) and commissioned WHO to organize and establish the day.
It is aimed as raising awareness globally about patient safety and call for solidarity and united action by all countries and international partners to reduce patient’s harm.
WHO says one in 20 patients suffers avoidable medication harm globally
Stakeholders and other health associates today call on the public not to patronize unaccredited health facilities.
Activities for the day include lightning up a monument to awareness on the need for medication safety and promote a safer medication use. Slogan for the commemoration of the day “Medication without harm”
Jumali as an NGO join the world over to commemorate the day.
