WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS: 30th July.
WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS: 30th July.
World day against trafficking in persons is held annually on this day. Trafficking in persons is a massive worldwide problem with few countries immune to human trafficking.
UN declared the day to raise awareness and increase prevention of such activities.
Every year, thousands and hundreds of men, women and children end up in the hands of traffickers often through being tricked and mislead to believe that they are being taken to work that will make their family better off, or through force, kidnap or even though very poor families selling children in order to survive.
Sensitization programmes are carried to raise awareness on the day and it’s importance.
Jumali and MDSCF partners join the rest of the world to observe the day.
