INTERNATIONAL MOON DAY ; 20th July.
International moon day is UNGA declared day. The declaration was made in a resolution A/RES/76/76 in Dec 2021. Since then the day became a UN observed day by its member nations.
The aim is to raise public awareness on the importance of the day. It was proclaimed to celebrate the achievement of all states in the exploration of the moon.
The day honours the anniversary of the first landing of human on the moon with a goal of informing the general public about how crucial the Moon is .
Theme for the year 2024 “Illuminating the shadows”. The theme invites everyone to explore the hidden wonders.
The moon landing is still considered one of ‘s greatest achievement and all about commemorating the Apollo 11 mission space exploration and promote international corporation.
Jumali and MDSCF join the world over to commemorate the day.
