WORLD FOOD SAFETY DAY; 7th June .
United Nations General Assembly through its resolution declared every 7th day in the month of June as World Food Safety Day(WFSD)
The day is aimed at drawing attention and to inspire action to help prevent, detect and manage food borne risks, as well as contribution to food safety.
This year 2024 marks it’s 6th year of it observance.
The day is crucial to protect consumers from health risk related to common allergies and food borns illnesses. Food Safety is the need for people to have food that is free of contamination.
On this day, civil society organisations, NGOs and other government parastatals and their partners organise events to create awareness of the day.
Jumali join the stakeholders on food safety and other related associations to raise awareness of the day.
