INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY; 22nd May.

Every year on this day, the 22rd Day in the month of May is decleared by UN as International day for biological diversity.
This year 2024 falls on the Wednesday.
The day was proclaimed by UN with the sole aim of increasing understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues.
The year theme reads “Be part of the plan”
It is a call to action to all stakeholders to halt and reserve the loss of biodiversity by supporting the implementation of kumming Montreal global biodiversity framework also referred to as the biodiversity plan.
Slogan for the day celebration “from agreement to action build back biodiversity.
The slogan promotes the idea that now that we have action plan agreed upon at a global level, we must implement all the measures that the agreement contemplates before 2030.
