INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE MIDWIVES;; 5th May.
Today is International day of the midwives, a day set aside by UNGA to commemorate with Midwives all over the world. The day celebrates the achievements of Midwives as well as their contribution to improving newborn and maternal reproductive and sexual health outcomes, motivate policy makers to implement changes by encouraging the unique professional role of midwife as well as lobbying for adequate midwifery resources.
Activities for the day may range from online programmes, conferences and seminars, phone in on Electronic media platforms among others by the midwives across the world.
