INTERNATIONAL WOMEN ‘S DAY; 8th March.
Every year on this day, the 8th day in March is observed as international women’s day. It is global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. The day is to honour the movement for women’s rights and build support to achieving universal surfrage for women.
The day originated from womens’ movement in the 20th century. This year’s theme 2024 “Invest in women, accelerate progress”. The campaign theme for the year “Inspire inclusion” when we inspire others to understand and value women’ s inclusion.
Stakeholders and women’s organizations working with women organize event to raise awareness on the importance of the day.
The colour for the women’s day is
Purple colour and combine with green represents the feminist movement.
