INTERNATIONAL HUMAN SOLIDARITY DAY; 20th December.
Solidarity simply means a bond of unity between individuals united around a common goal. Solidarity could also mean willingness to give psychological and or material support when another person is in a difficult position or needs affection.
The 20th of December is designated as International Human Solidarity Day.
The day is aimed at reminding people on the importance of solidarity in working towards eradicating poverty. Government too are reminded of their commitments to international agreements on the need for human solidarity as an initiative to fight against poverty,
Awareness program are carried out by stakeholders including NGOs, CSOs through all forms of media ie. prints, audio- visual and online through speeches at official event and web blogs from groups, individuals, or organizations committed to universal solidarity.
