WORLD TOILET DAY; 19th November.
Today is observe as World Toilet Day. It’s an annually observe day designated by UNGA on this day to inspire action to tackle the global sanitation across.
The observance of the day started in 2001, this year marking the 22nd observance.
The day urge changes in both behavior and policy on issues ranging from enhancing water management to ending open air detection.
“Accelerating change for safe” is the theme for 2023 World Toilet Day. The theme reflect the ongoing efforts to speed up the necessary changes that will result in safe sanitation practices at the global level.
The aim of the day is to celebrate toilets and highlight the global sanitation crisis that affects billion of people around the world who are living without access to a safety managed toilet.
Activities for the day by those involved NGOs, INGOs, CSOs etc may include among others
Building toilet, Pay to pee ie make a donation every time you use toilet, Go blue ie colour of water, Have a good coin day, Fund raising activities ie bake sale to raise money for water aid etc.
