WORLD CITES DAY;31st OCTOBER.

The 31st day in October every year is observed as World cities day. A day that brings to light the in equalities within the biggest cities in the world and pushes for greater social inclusion, including equality and access to service opportunity.
The day raises awareness about global urbanisation and push for global cooperation in sustainable urban development.
The observance of the day started in 2014, in an organised programme , United Nations Human Settlements programme in cooperation , each year selected host city.
World cities are those that exert dominant influence over continental and global economies and processes, this is independent of population size, as World do not have to have huge population but usually exert such huge influence.
World cities are characterized among others, huge degree of urban development, large population, presence of major multinational companies.
Activities for the day in order to honour founders of the day include series of sensitization to educate the public on the day.
Jumali and MDSCF join the world over to observe this day.
