INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR CHARITY; 5th September.
The 5th day in September is declared as International Day for charity.
Charity like the notions of volunteerism and philanthropy, is a term that provides real social bonding and contribute to the creation of exclusive and more resilient societies. It can alleviate the worst effects of humanitarian crises, supplement public services in health care, education, housing and Child protection.
Charity is found to assists the advancement of culture, science, sports and the protection of cultural and natural heritage.
The day is designated to commemorate with the founder of charity Mother Teresa of Calcutta, whom has received a Nobel Peace prices for her tremendous charity work with the sole aim and her struggle to lessen poverty, distress, hunger and the likes, these are paramount which constitute a threat to peace.
The day is established with the objective of sensitizing and mobilizing people, NGOs and stakeholders all around the world to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities.
Jumali and MDSCF join these groups and the world over to commemorate with the day.
