WORLD RED CROSS DAY; 8th May.
Red Cross is a Humanitarian organization introduced as a major contributor to peace after the World War 1 by an international commission at 14th International conference of the Red Cross. The day was presented and approved on the 15th International conference at Tokyo in the year 1934. It was adopted and first celebrated on the 8th of May 1984, since then it has been celebrated annually.
The day has among other objectives;
To provide relief and peace to the injured people, prevention of death rate due to the disaster of any kind.
It helps in initiating active efforts all over the world to reduce casual deaths because of epidemic illness
It helps people living in the vulnerable areas to manage the public health emergencies.
It avails protection and nursing care to the people in civil population.
This day has become an important day in the history of the world which is being celebrated annually to play big role in the life saving events as well as assisting the vulnerable social people all around the world.

The day is observed in more than 170 countries by people on international level to alleviate people’s suffering, enhancing their dignity, protecting their life from emergencies and lots of natural disasters including epidemic diseases, flood earthquake and others.
To observe this day, stakeholders organise lots of programs and events to encourage volunteers as well as facilitate and promote humanitarian activities.

Jumali and MDSCF join the world over to commemorate with all those organizations and associations, Civil Society Organizations, Government and Non Governmental, as well as private sector who are out in providing succor to the people in need.
