The World Radio Day is observed every 13th of February.
Radio is among mass media use for dissemination of information to the public. It is among the early means of information dissemination after the traditional way.
Radio continues to be one of most trusted and accessible media in the world.
Radio is something that has been connecting us with the happening around the globe since forever. It is an unseparatable part of our lives that teaches us all, dialogue, tolerance and peace.
The day as it is was proclaimed in 2011 by UNESCO member states and adapted by the UN General Assembly in 2021 as International Radio Day.
Every year on this day, UNESCO call on radio stations world wide to celebrate world Radio Day.
This day is celebrated to preserve the timeless medium and create awareness of the importance of radio. People and media are encouraged to use radio for dissemination of information, networking and enhancing communication around the world.
Despite a global decline of trust in the internet and social media network, radio continue to be seen by people as one of the most trustworthy news source.

Jumali and MDSCF join the world over, especially the UNESCO member Nations in the observance of the day.
