WORLD TOWN PLANNING DAY, 8th November.
Every 8th of November, is declared as World Town Planning day otherwise known as the International Organization for World Urbanisation Day. It was founded in 1949.
The day was aimed at advancing public and professional planning.
It is a special day to recognize and promote the role of planning in creating livable communities.
The day is observed in more than 30 countries of the United Nations on the four continents each year on this day.
It presents an excellent opportunity to look at planning from a global perspective.
Organizations and other stakeholders including government and Non Governmental Organizations, Civil Society Organizations organise events to create awareness to citizens and public authorities to draw attention on the environmental impact resulting from the development of cities and territories
Jumali as a training academy for future urban planners and engineers as well as a Civil Society Organizations join the rest of the world to observe the day.
