INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CLEAN AIR FOR BLUE SKIES, 7th September.

Today is observed as International day of clean air for blues skies. It is a United Nations declared day. The observance of the day dates back to 2019 which was designated by the United Nation General Assembly on the 7th of September. Since then, this is the fourth observance.
The day strengthen international cooperation improving air quality and reducing air pollution.
Objectives of day among other is to educate the public.
Breathing clean air can lessen the possibility of disease from stroke, heart disease, lung career as well as chronic and acute respiratory illness, such as asthma, low level of air pollution are better for heart and respiratory heart both long and short term.

Theme of this year’s occasion “The air we share” it focus on trans boundary nature of air pollution highlighting the need for collective accountability and collective action.
In recognizing the importance of clean air in our health and daily lives.

NGOs, CSOs and other organizations today may organize an activities to commemorate the day which may range from taking a creative photo of anything with blue skies, sensitization seminar and online programs to inform and educate the public on the importance of the day.

Jumali as a training academy as well as a Non Governmental Organization join all the stakeholders who are into environmental issues related to clean air, free from pollution to commemorate the day.
