WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSON; 30th JULY.

World day against trafficking in persons is held on the 30th of July every year. It is a United Nations declared day aimed at creating awareness on the way people are being trafficked from one country to another, state to state or from one place to another for the purpose of slavery or expose to hard labour.

Thousands of women and men are Victims of this act.
People trafficking and modern day slavery is a massive worldwide problem with few countries to human trafficking.
This event by the United Nations is to raise awareness and increase prevention.

Every year, thousands of men, women and children end up in the hands of traffickers often through being tricked and mislead to believe that they are being taken to work that will make their family better off, or through force, kidnap or even through very poor families selling children in other to survive.
Many ways people get caught up in trafficking, and the result may include loosing their rights and identify and are abused.
Phenomena of trafficking in persons is a global problem, an industry not far behind drugs and arms in terms of profit for traffickers, hence nowadays, more and more unemployed youth, men and women are found to engage themselves in the act.
On this day, NGOs, CBOs, CSOs, INOs, Corporate organizations as well as government agencies working on human trafficking eg NAPTIP organises different types of programmes and events including seminars, workshops, road show and on-line progrommes to raise awareness of the day.

A Theme for the year is drawn which will address the menace and again agreed by all members on the prevention of trafficking in persons.

Jumali and MDSCF are partners in progress join the United Nations member countries and all the organizations and stakeholders in the field of awareness creation to amplifier call for prevention and Stop in the act.
