NEW ISLAMIC CALENDAR YEAR, 1st Muharram, 1444 AH.
Today is 1st of Muharram 1444 after hijra, the day that marks the day Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was asked to migrate from Mecca to Yadirib,(Madina) under the instructions of Almighty Allah.

Today is the beginning of day faithful Muslims all over the world begin to take and make reference of all events.
There are 12 months calendar as it is in Gregorian calendar. The month start with Muharram as it’s first month and ends with Dhul hajji as the 12th month.
Each month comes with days as it is in Gregorian calendar some 28, 29 and others 30 depending on the day the new moon is sighted.
The months have some peculiar activities eg Rabiul Auwal the 3rd is the month commemorating the birth of the Noble Prophet Muhammad SAW, Ramadan the 9th month is for fasting. Dhul-Hajj is the 12th month which is the month when pilgrimage is performed, faithful Muslims from all works of live converge in the holy land to perform Hajj, one of the pillars of Islam.

Activities of the day to mark the new year may range from Quranic recitations, sensitization seminars and conferences, islamiyya schools gathering/match pass etc during which a new calendar is launched and distributed to important dignitaries at the occasion.

Jumali and MDSCF join the world of Muslim faithfuls all over thethe works to celebrate the new year.
