WORLD WILDLIFE DAY, 3thM MARCH.
Today is World Wildlife Day.
The day was by Colleen Paige who created a national wildlife conservation, and it was set aside in honour of Steve Irwin late wildlife conservation the famed crocodile hunter.

The day was first agreed on the 20th of December 2013 at UN General Assembly 68th session in its 68th/205 decided to proclaim it as International Day of wildlife. It is also called WWD. Since then, the day has become an annually observed day by all United Nations member countries.

The day bring an opportunity to celebrate the many beautiful and varies forms of wild fauna and flora to raise awareness of their multitude benefits.
Earth is a home to numerous varieties of plants and animals.

Every year, a theme is drawn to mark the day, example sustaining all life on earth was previous theme which focuses on all wild animals and plants species as components of diversity and livelihood of people, mainly those live closet to nature.
Theme of this year’s celebration “Recovery key species for ecosystem restoration” this will focus on efforts to raise awareness of the critically endangered species of flora and fauna in our ecosystem with a view of generating and implementing workable solutions to conserve them.

Events to commemorate the day among others include; visit to local parks, Going to watch birds , cleaning up your local Beach, visit your local zoo or aquarium, watching animal planet, donate to or volunteer at local animal organization.

Jumali and MDSCF join the world of Flora and fauna to celebrate with their target on the occasion of the day.
