HUMAN RIGHTS DAY, 10th DECEMBER.
Human rights are meant to be enjoyed by all human being both male and female, old or young not minding the cultural background.
Human rights include among others; Right to freedom of speech, right to freedom of information, right to vote and be voted, right to education, right to movement, etc.
The day is declared by United Nations and observed across all member nations.
These rights are stated in the Constitution of every nation and are the guiding principles towards achieving a better nation.
To commemorate the day, Governmental and Non Governmental Organizations working on human rights organise events including conferences, seminars and meetings, media and on-line programs to create awareness on human rights, Importance and challenges faced in achieving these rights are discussed. Ways forward to obtaining these rights are brain stormed during these events.
Leaflets, posters, as well as other educative and informative materials are distributed at the events.
Jumali as a civil society training academy, human rights are part of what we train our targets, join other civil societies organizations to observe this day.
