INTERNATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION DAY, 9TH DECEMBER.
Today is observed as International anti- corruption day, it is usually slated for the 9th of December every year. It is Internationally observed day by all Nations of the world.

The day is aimed at raising public awareness for anti-curruption and concerns about the seriousness of problems and threats posed by corruption to the stability and security of societies, undermining institutions and values of democracy, ethical values and justice as well as jeopardizing sustainable development and the rule of law.

Activities are lined up to commemorate the day by International Organizations, Civil Society Associations, Community Based Organization, as well as government agencies fighting to bring corruption at minimal level, they include seminars, sensitization, workshops, TV/Radio phone-in/ online programmes as well as rally and other out reaches. Posters, bill boards and other informative and educative materials are distributed during the organised events sponsored by government and partners with International anti-corruption organizations.

A call was made to all the stakeholders to promote and strengthen measures to prevent and combat corruption more efficiently and effectively, promote, facilitate and support International cooperation and technical assistance in the prevention of and fight against corruption so as to promote integrity, accountability and proper management of public affairs and public property.
