WORLD AIDS DAY, 1ST DECEMBER.

Every 1st December worldwide is observed as World AIDS Day, it is often abbreviated as WAD.
AIDS stands as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. The day as it is observed today is among the eight official global public health campaigns marked by the World Health Organization (WHO) It is dedicated in raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.
On this day, activities are lined up aimed at sensitizing the general population on the menace of the AIDS.

Government and health officials, NGOs and Individuals around the world observe the day often with education on AIDS prevention and control.

Jumali and MDSCF join all the Organizations, Government and Non Governmental within and outside the world working on HIV and AIDS, and also call on their target to be aware of the pandemic by getting enlightened on the causes, spread prevention and control of AIDS.
A theme is usually drafted every year agreed by all member nations to commemorate with the day and is rallying round on the awareness of the pandemic.
