WORLD TOWN PLANNING DAY, 8TH November
Today is observed as world town planning day. It is annually celebrated on this day in more than 30 countries and in the four continents of the world. Urbanisation Day. The day was founded in 1949 as International Organization for World Urbanisation Day which was later renamed as World Town Planning Day.
It is a special day aimed to recognize and promote the role of planning in creating livable communities.
The day presents an excellent opportunity to look at planning from global perspectives in other to draw attention to the environmental impact resulting from the development of cities and territories.
Jumali as training academy hoping to train her targets populations to be future town and urban planners rejoice with the world of town planners on the occasion of the day,appeals to the conscience of the citizens and public authorities on the impact of proper planning in our communities.
