WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSON; 30TH JULY.
Today is observed as World Day Against Trafficking in Person. It is an annually observed day.
It is a Unity Nations declared day with the sole aim of raising awareness and to increase prevention of trafficking
People trafficking and modern slavery is a massive World wide problem with very few countries immune to it.
Thousands of men, women and children who are mostly the victims of the menace end up in the hands of traffickers every year, often through being tricked and mislead to believe that they are being taken to work that will make their family better off, or through force, kidnap, or even through very poor families selling children in order to survive
The day is make with activities by Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Government Agencies and Civil Societies Organisations organising awareness program to the implications of the trafficking in persons in order to curb it if not all but to the minimal level.
Jumali and MDSCF join the rest of the world today to observed the day, and call on authority concern for swift punishments for those involved directly or indirectly in the act. Also call for strong legislative act on those involved.
