International day of African Child 16/6/2021

Today is observed as International Day of the African Child being observed on every 16th day of June. It is an annually observed day.
The day is meant to Honour those who participated in the Soweto Uprising in 1976. It also raises awareness of the continuing need for improvement of the education provided to African Children as against poor quality of education and demanding their right to be taught in their own language.
On the this day, governments, NGOs, International Organization and their stakeholders gather to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the full realization of the rights of children of Africa. In the observance of this day.
every year a theme is chosen. Previous themes include returns to the roots of the movement: A child- friendly, quality, free and compulsory education for all children in Africa.
Jumali and MDSCF join the rest of African country to observe the day and call for adoption of the earlier proposals for African Child for peace, progress, development of the continent. Happy International Day of the African Child from JTSLTA/MDSCF
