WORLD AIDS DAY 1st December.
AIDS is an acronyms which stands for Acquired Immune-Deficiency Syndrom, is a disease which result from HIV a virus which destroys the human immune system which if not treated changed to AIDS. A day is set aside to commemorate with the victims of this pandemic to create awareness to the generality of populace.
Today, 1st December worldwide is observed as World AIDS Day, it is dedicated in raising awareness of the AIDS and AIDSrelated pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.
On this day Government and health officials, NGOs/CSOs and Individuals around the world observe the day, often with education on AIDS prevention and control.
The day is among the official global health campaigns marked by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Jumali and MDSCF join the world over and the organisations and agencies working on HIV/AIDS to create awareness.
