INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR TOLERANCE: 16th Nov.
INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR TOLERANCE: 16th Nov.
Today is International Day for Tolerence.
Tolerence is the ability to endure pain or hardship or endurance. It also means ability or practice of tolerating, an acceptance or patience with, the beliefs, opinion or practices of others, a lack of bigotry.
It is an act of humanity, which we must nurture and enact each in own lives every day, to rejoice in the diversity that makes us strong and the values that bring us together.
This day is an annual observance by UNESCO in 1995 to generate awareness of the danger of intolerence. It is a time for people to learn about respecting and recognizing the rights and beliefs of others. It is also a time of reflection and debate on the negative effects of intolerence. Live discussions and debates take place across the focusing on how various forms of injustice, oppression, racism and unfair discrimination have negative impact on society. Other activities being organised by NGOs, CSOs, and other related associations include visitations to correctional centers, rally and symposium.
Jumali Teen Summer Leadership Training Academy (JTSLTA) in Partnership with Mamman Dawee Second Chance Foundation (MDSCF) join the world over in the observance of the day and call on the general public to adhere to tolerence.
Happy International Day for Tolerence from JTSLTA/MDSCF.
