INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD, 16th June.
The day of African child is annually observed in the whole of African countries and in the world over. The day’s aim is to honour. those who participated in the Soweto Uprising in 1976, and also to raise awareness of the continuing need for improvement of the education provided to African children as against poor quality of their education and demanding their rights to be taught in their own language.
Activity to commemorate the day include Governments, NGO, International organisations and other stakeholders gather to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the full realization of the rights of the children Africa.
A theme is chosen every year to celebrate the day with Some of themes used and still being pursued such as ” return to the roots of the movement”. “A child friendly, quality, free, and compulsory education for all children in Africa.”etc.
Jumali as a training academy for youths and children celebrate with the African child worldwide. Also we. call on all concerned stakeholders to join hands and support the African child in the actualization of their dreams.
