Every year 8th March is observed as International Women’s Day. The day is a focal point in the movement for Women’s rights. The day honored annually in memory of working women .It was celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted as the feminist. The struggle started in 1917 by the Russian Federation .
Activities marking the day among others including; public holiday in some countries, protest again women abuse on the deprivation of their rights, public lectures on the right of women, debate, rallies by women groups and association. Public attentions are sought on the importance of women and their rights. In summary, the day celebrates womanhood.
Jumali and MDSCF are partner organisations working for the upliftment of girls and women join the world over in the celebration of this day as well as support all the women groups and associations to create awarenes for the public to the importance of the day.
