INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR TOLERANCE, 16th Nov. “Tolerance is an act of humanity, which we must nurture and enact each in own lives everyday, to rejoice in the diversity that makes us strong and the values that bring us together.” Today all over the world is observed as International Tolerance Day. It is decleared and observed annually by UNESCO. The aim of the day was to generate public awareness of the danger of intolerance. It is a time for peolpe to learn about respecting and recignising the rights and beliefs of others, also for reflection and debate on the negative effects of intolerance.
Event marking the day include live discussions and debates held across the world focusing on how various forms of injustice, oppression, racism and unfair discrimination have a negative impact on society.
Jumali as a leadership hub for the future generation in partnership with MDSCF commemorate the day and call on the public to tolerate one another not minding the background we all come from. Also to assist the authorities to curb all forms that may result to intolerance.
