Today is a day marking the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) PBUH It is always observed as public holiday by the muslim umma usually in the third month (Rabbiul Auwal) of the Islamic calender. Alot of activities are lined up to mark the day, which include: Seminars, sensitizations and match pass conducted by muslim youths and islamiyya pupils. Others perform lesser hajji when the new moon of Rabbiul Auwal is sighted. People on visitation to the lesser hajj visits the prophet’s grave and pray for him. Others believe in fasting on this day as the Prophet (PBUH) use to do and enjoyed his followers to do same . muslim youths and children. Islamic clerics engage in recitation, tafsir (preaching ) singing Islamic songs to commemorate the day. Competition among the islamiyya children are observe where schools are gathered . They move around singing . Jumali Leadership Academy in partnership with MDSCF join the Muslim faithfuls worldwide to celebrate the day and to amplify the importance of the gift of the Prophet (Peace be upon him ) bestored on the muslim community .
